Approving many requests at once (manager)
This article shows you how to approve several requests in one go, so you don't have to open each one. Before anything is approved, TaskFlow shows you exactly what you're about to grant.
Approve several task requests
- In the sidebar, click Tasks & Approvals.
- Tick the checkbox next to each request you want. You can also use Select All.
- In the bar at the bottom, click Approve.
- Check the Approve Selected Requests window:
- Will be approved lists every request by name, with the hours it grants.
- The total hours are shown at the top.
- Left for you to open lists the ones it will skip, with the reason.
- Click Approve N Requests to confirm.
The Approve Selected Requests window, showing the "Will be approved" list with hours and the "Left for you to open" list with reasons.
Afterwards you see a summary of what was approved, what was skipped and anything that failed. Each requester is notified just as if you had approved them one by one.
What can be approved in bulk
Bulk approval only covers requests that can't grant more than what's on the row:
- A plain new task request with a single number of hours.
- Delete, archive and restore requests, which grant no hours.
These are always left for you to open:
- Edits to an approved task, because they change a figure someone already agreed to.
- Requests with more than one decision waiting.
- Requests whose hours aren't a single plain number, such as hours set per person.
Approve several time requests
Time requests have their own page.
- On Tasks & Approvals, click Adjustment Queue at the top.
- Tick the requests you want.
- Click Approve selected.
- Check the Approve time requests window and confirm.
Some time requests are always left for you to open. These include edits to an existing entry, time captured from a timer left running, and two or more requests on the same row that would add up. Check those one at a time.
If the Approve button doesn't appear, you may not be an approver for that type of request. See Choose who approves.
