Notifications: in-app, email and push
This article explains the three ways TaskFlow keeps you informed, and how to choose which notifications you get.
TaskFlow lets you know when something needs you: a task is assigned to you, someone mentions you, your request is approved or sent back, a deadline is close, and so on. It can tell you in three ways:
- In-app – the bell and your Inbox inside TaskFlow.
- Email – a message to your work email.
- Push – a pop-up notification from your browser or device, even when TaskFlow isn't open.
In-app notifications
The bell in the top-right corner shows a red number when you have unread notifications. Click it to see the latest ones. Click a notification to go to the related task, or click Mark all read.
For the full list, click View all in Inbox, or go to My Work and open the Inbox tab. There you can filter by type (Mentions, Assignments, Approvals, Comments and more), mark notifications as read, snooze them or archive them.
The notification bell open, showing the latest notifications with their icons, the Mark all read button and the View all in Inbox link.
Email notifications
TaskFlow emails you about the things that matter most, such as approvals and new assignments. You can also get a Daily Digest and a Weekly Summary of your tasks.
Turn on push notifications
Push notifications are set up separately on each device and browser.
- Click Settings in the sidebar.
- In Push Notifications, click Enable Push Notifications.
- When your browser asks, allow notifications.
TaskFlow sends a test notification so you can check it works. To stop push notifications on that device, click Disable on This Device.
If you see Notification permission is blocked, allow notifications for TaskFlow in your browser's site settings, then try again. If you see Not available in this browser, try a different browser.
Choose what you're notified about
- Click Settings in the sidebar and scroll to Notification Preferences.
- Each type of event (for example Task Assigned to Me, Task Approved or @Mentioned in Comment) has its own In-App, Email and Push switches. Turn on the ones you want.
- Click Save Preferences.
Other useful options in the same section:
- Quick presets – All On, Mentions Only or Nothing, to change everything at once.
- Do Not Disturb – mute notifications during set hours, for example overnight.
- Email digest frequency – choose a daily digest, a weekly summary, both, or no digests.
- Space Notification Mutes – stop notifications from spaces you don't follow closely.
- Test Notifications – send yourself a test email, in-app or push notification.
