Set up your first workspace (admin)
This article walks you through creating a workspace for your team and choosing its basic settings. A workspace is your team's own area in TaskFlow, with its own members, tasks and settings.
Create the workspace
- If you don't belong to any workspace yet, click Create Your First Workspace. Otherwise, open the workspace switcher at the top of the sidebar and click Create Workspace.
- Enter a Workspace Name (at least 3 characters), for example your company or team name.
- Check the Workspace Slug. It is filled in from the name, and you can change it.
- Under Manager, choose who will approve requests in this workspace:
- I'll be the manager – you approve requests yourself.
- Pick an existing user – choose someone who already uses TaskFlow.
- Invite by email – send an invitation to the person who will be the manager.
- Click Create Workspace.
You are now the workspace owner. Being the owner does not automatically make you a manager, so pick I'll be the manager if you plan to approve requests. You can change this later. See Roles.
If you see Request a workspace instead, creating workspaces needs approval in your organization. Add an optional Reason, click Submit request, and you'll be notified once it's approved.

Choose your settings
Click Workspace in the sidebar. The General tab has the settings most teams change first:
- Workspace Details – name, slug and Workspace Logo.
- Default Timezone – used for reminders and daily emails.
- Daily Digest Email — Time – when the daily summary email goes out.
- Features – for example how manual time entry works and who can log time.
- Approval requirements – which actions need a manager's approval. See Approval settings.
- Member sidebar options – optional pages you can hide from regular members.
- Departments – the department names people pick from when they request a task.
- Required fields for requests – which fields must be filled in on a new request.
When you're done, click Save Settings at the bottom of the tab.
